The thing is that the mission isk gets used. Whether for pvp, fueling the market, put into manufacturing, whatever, the isk is spread out into eve and helps fuels the economy.
I guess it wasn't my last post.
I think (and lets stress the "I think" part) the reason that some people get upset with the payout of level 4 missions versus all other ways of making isk in game is this:
The NPC bounties, wreak salvage, dropped modules, and mission payout are produced (created) by CCP and not by the player. Four income sources. And the sources are created from thin air so to speak. It's kind of like having your own printing press. The mission runner has no competition from other mission runners while he is running the mission. He may have competition for the salvage and the dropped modules from people scanning him down. But no other player will take the mission payout or the NPC bounty from him (I think).
Mining and ratting are kind like this. A miner goes out and shoots a rock, collects minerals and makes isk from the rocks. One source of income for the miner. The rock is regenerated later. A ratter goes out and shoots an NPC in a belt and collects isk from the bounty. If he does not collect salvage and the dropped modules he only has one source of income. Otherwise he has three sources of income. The NPC is regenerated later. The difference here is that both the miner and the ratter can have competition from other players for the items they are making their income from.
People don't have a lot of problems with mining and ratting. Not sure why because it sounds like people can make has much, if not more, then a mission runner if those people mine or rat in a good location. My opinion about this is what I have read. I don't like mining and ratting sounds like mission running to me.
Trading and manufacturing, which makes a lot more then mission running, uses things produced or sold by other players to create wealth for the player that is trading or manufacturing. Traders and manufactures also have competition from other players when it comes to making isk
The mission runner does produce stuff. He is producing minerals from the dropped modules and he provides salvage from the wreaks for others, or himself, to make rigs. You could think of him has a specialized miner of NPCs. But no other player will take the mission payout or the NPC bounty from him (I think).
Let me repeat: I do not have problems with Level 4 mission runners. ************************************************* I have three characters. One has Cov Ops V along with all the bells and whistles that goes with it. |
